Roscoff, St Malo, Caen and Cherbourg are all convenient ports for ferry crossings from the UK. St Malo is approximately 3½ hours from Les Jincheres. To check out cheaper ferry crossings and channel tunnel prices visit the ferry savers website. Another web site worth visiting is the Norfolk Line site. There is also a new 'no frills' ferry line now operating from Portsmouth to Le Havre called LD Lines which is well worth a visit as fares are usually cheaper than the other ferry companies. Train - you can catch the Eurostar to Lille then the TGV to Poitiers (changing at Lille is easier than Paris). Or Eurostar to Paris and then TGV to Niort from Gare Montparnasse.
Flying: Very reasonably priced flights are now available from Stanstead to Poitiers or La Rochelle with Ryanair. La Rochelle and Poitiers airports are approx 1 hours drive from us and Nantes 1½ hrs. Fly and Drive is certainly an option to consider. There are a number of no frills new flight routes to our area. Southampton - La Rochelle, Shannon to Nantes, Dublin to Nantes and La Rochelle, and East Midlands to Nantes
Bus: an overnight coach service is available between London, Victoria and Poitiers. Poitiers is 1 hour away from us by car.
Transport: Les Jincheres is in the middle of the countryside - hiring a car from Avis or Eurocar is simple and their offices are an easy walk from the railway stations in Poitiers and Niort and airports at Poitiers and La Rochelle.
